Just wanted to make sure since it's gold plated, does that mean it's not going to change colour/darken after being exposed to water?

We would always advise don't wear your jewellery in the shower, when doing washing up, or exercising as it is perfectly natural for sterling silver jewellery to tarnish or become dull.
